In my first week I found it incredibly hard and often in tears to see these majestic animals caged and in inadequate enclosures. The team at WRC are trying every day to enrich their lives but are hampered by lack of resources and bureaucratic policies from local ministries. Much more needs to be done not only to enable the team to rehabilitate and release those animals not harmed enough to be able to return to their natural environment, but to stop people thinking they have the right to keep them illegally as pets.

Practicing seeing will help improving the welfare conditions of captive animals.

We all can be actors of changes. That is the least we can do for the millions of animals that live in human institutions throughout the world.

questions when the creatures do not live under optimal conditions during captivity.

Thanks for this process we must all take when seeing the difficult realities of creatures in captivity. Well stated. Ellen Mass
