A joyous discovery: Rare salamanders are making a comeback in the Middlesex Fells
Mid-February, EwA’s fieldwork yielded an important discovery before spring even arrived, with the documentation of a marbled salamander larva at one of our winter forest explorations. This larva is the first evidence of a reproductive adult in the fells since the species was last seen in in this area in the 1930s.
